The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) staged demonstrations in Belkuchi condemning the attack on Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Osman Hadi, who was reportedly shot with intent to kill.
The programme was organized on Saturday (13 December 2025) by the Belkuchi Upazila and Poura units of BNP, along with its affiliated and associate organizations. A protest procession marched through key roads of the Belkuchi municipal area and concluded it with a protest rally.
Former General Secretary of Belkuchi Upazila BNP Haji Abdur Razzak Mondol, Sirajganj District BNP member Golam Azam, former Member Secretary of Upazila BNP Boni Amin, former Convener of Belkuchi Poura BNP Haji Altaf Hossain Pramanik, Joint Convener of Upazila BNP Rezaul Karim, General Secretary of Mukundaganti Bazar Traders’ Association Mohammad Ali Bhuiyan, Upazila Jubo Dal Convener Shamim Sarkar, and Member Secretary Alam Pramanik, among others were also present there.
Speakers described the attack on Osman Hadi as a direct assault on freedom of expression and democratic movements. They demanded immediate arrest of those involved and called for exemplary punishment of the perpetrators. The leaders also urged an end to nationwide efforts to suppress dissenting voices.
They further stated that the BNP believes in peaceful political movements but warned that any attempt to silence the people’s voice would be met with a strong response on the streets.
Leaders and activists of the Upazila and Poura BNP, along with various affiliated and associate organizations, were present at the programme.
