BNP vice-chairman Abdus Salam Pintu was released from Kashimpur Central Jail in Gazipur on Tuesday morning after serving all most 17 years’ of jail in August 21st grenade attack case.
The prison authorities permitted him to walk out after receiving important papers related to his release order, said senior jail super Al Mamun.
After release, he went directly to the graveyard of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman. Later will go to the party office at Nayapaltan, said BNP media cell member Shayrul Kabir Khan.
Abdus Salam Pintu was arrested in the August 21 grenade attack case in August 2008. Pintu was recently acquitted in the High Court verdict in this case.
