The government has decided to allow bus services to resume operations within the district from May 6.

The transport authorities must maintain health guideline to operate services, said Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam while talking to reporters after a cabinet meeting on Monday.

However, the river transports and rail services are not allowed to restart their operations, he said.

Besides, the ongoing countrywide lockdown has been extended till May 16 in a bid to contain the spread of coronavirus infections in the country.

However, the shops and shopping malls have to maintain the health guidelines, otherwise the government will shut them down, he said.
