Cabinet Okays new pay structure: Salaries by Grades

The cabinet approved the new pay structure for government officers and employees at its meeting at the secretariat in Dhaka on Monday.

Under the proposed new pay structure, the starting basic salaries of government employees have been increased by 100% to 142%, depending on their grades. The basic salaries for grades 1 to 11 have been doubled, while those for grades 12 to 20 have been increased by 115% to 142%.

The fixed salary for Grade 1 has been increased from Tk78,000 to Tk1,56,000. However, the starting basic salary for Grade 2 has been raised from Tk66,000 to Tk1,32,000; for Grade 3, from Tk56,500 to Tk1,13,000; and for Grade 4, from Tk50,000 to Tk1,00,000.

The starting basic salary for Grade 5 has been raised from Tk43,000 to Tk86,000; for Grade 6, from Tk35,500 to Tk71,000; for Grade 7, from Tk29,000 to Tk58,000; for Grade 8, from Tk23,000 to Tk46,000; for Grade 9, from Tk22,000 to Tk44,000; and for Grade 10, from Tk16,000 to Tk32,000.

For Grade 11, the starting basic salary has been doubled from Tk12,500 to Tk25,000. For Grade 12, it has increased from Tk11,300 to Tk24,300; for Grade 13, from Tk11,000 to Tk24,000; for Grade 14, from Tk10,200 to Tk23,500; and for Grade 15, from Tk9,700 to Tk22,800.

For Grade 16, the starting basic salary has been increased from Tk9,300 to Tk21,900; for Grade 17, from Tk9,000 to Tk21,400; for Grade 18, from Tk8,800 to Tk21,000; for Grade 19, from Tk8,500 to Tk20,500; and for Grade 20, from Tk8,250 to Tk20,000.
