The much-anticipated film “Chaalchitro”, which initially released in theatres on December 20, marked Ziaul Faruq Apurba’s debut in Kolkata’s film industry and received widespread acclaim from audiences and critics alike. Hoichoi has now officially announced that the film is set to release on their OTT platform on February 7.

The storyline of “Chaalchitro” is centred around a case from 12 years ago, which serves as the backdrop for the film. While no updates were initially provided, director Pratim D Gupta revealed plans for a sequel just seven days after the film’s theatrical release.

The next installment will pick up where the first part concluded. However, the director has clarified that the upcoming chapter is not merely a sequel. He describes it as both a prequel and a sequel, expanding the storyline in new directions.

Produced under the banner of Friends Communication, the film features Ziaul Faruq Apurba alongside an ensemble cast including Raima Sen, Tota Roy Chowdhury, Anirban Chakrabarti, Bratya Basu, and Shantanu Maheshwari, among others.
