Chattogram Challengers won their first match in the 10th season of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) but lost the next one. However, in the third match, the Port City team won again. This time their prey is Durdanto Dhaka.

Batting first at the Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Dhaka scored 136/8 in 20 overs. In reply, Chattogram chased down the target by losing only 4 wickets with 10 balls in hand.

Avishka Fernando and Tanzid Hasan Tamim opened the innings for Chattogram. Shoriful Islam returned Avishka in the first over. He also picked up the wicket of Imranuzzaman in his next over. Both are trapped leg before.

Despite losing two wickets in the beginning, Chatttogram turned around with the bat of Tamim and Shahadat Hossain Dipu. These two batsmen continued to lead the team to victory. They shared 50-plus runs between them which led Chattogram to easy win.

When Dipu was out for 22 runs, his 53-run partnership with Tamim broke. Tamim, who was on the way to fifty, got out for 49 runs and returned to the dressing room with regret. Najibullah Zadran and Shubhagata Hom did the rest to seal easy victory.

Earlier Chattogram Challengers captain Shubhagata Hom decided to field after winning the toss. Danushka Gunathilaka and Naim Sheikh opened the innings for Dhaka. In the second over, Gunathilaka was hit in the jaw while scooping Al-Amin Hossain’s ball.

Gunathilaka’s jaw burst open and blood started to flow as soon as he got hit. Doctors in the field nursed him for a while. He was finally forced to leave the field as he did not get the expected results. He was replaced by Lasith Crosspulle as a concussion sub.

Saif Hasan could not score more than 9 runs today. Mosaddek Hossain Saikat, who went down for four, played 6 balls but returned to the dressing room before scoring. Naim Sheikh and Alex Ross also got out amid 33 runs.

Lasith Croospulle and Irfan Sukkur came to Dhaka’s savior in difficult times. Dhaka got the collection to fight the responsible batting of these two batsmen. Where Croospulle, who did not get a place in the first eleven of this match, led from the front.

In the face of disaster, Irfan made a great pair of 78 runs with Lasith Croospulle. The Sri Lankan batsman was also on his way to fifty. He was out for 46 runs. Irfan who accompanied him scored 27 runs before returning to Sajghar.

In the end, Taskin’s 15-run cameo confirmed Dhaka’s fighting total. No one else got a run of double digits. For Chattogram, Bilal Khan and Al Amin took two wickets and Shubhagata Hom, Nihaduzzaman and Curtis Campher took one wicket each.
