The price of soybean oil has been increased by Tk10 per litre, and will be sold at Tk173.

The information was given in a press release by the Bangladesh Vegetable Oil Refiners and Vanaspati Manufacturers Association yesterday. The new price will be effective from the same day.

The notification issued on February 7 for the import of raw materials of edible oil at the production stage expired on April 15. For this reason, edible oil (refined palm oil and refined soybean oil) will be supplied in the market from April 16 at the previous price without VAT exemption, the press release said. Hence, from Tuesday, per litre bottled soybean oil will be sold at Tk 173, while five liters of bottled soybean oil will be sold at Tk845.
