Ex-MP Badal’s grave vandalized-torched

Miscreants vandalised and torched the graveyard of former lawmaker from Chattogram-8 constituency Main Uddin Khan Badal at Saroatoli in Boalkhali, Chattogram.

The incident took place at family graveyard of Paschim Saroatoli Ahmadullah Khan house in Boalkhali upazila of the district on Tuesday (September 17) afternoon.

Badal’s younger brother Kamal Uddin Khan Mukul said that a group of miscreants attacked the grave in a microbus around 4 pm on Tuesday and vandalized it. At that time they set fire to the grave and escaped.

Golam Sarwar, OC of Boalkhali police station, said that someone attacked the grave of late Member of Parliament Moin Uddin Khan Badal. We visited the spot. The matter is being investigated.

Meanwhile, Badal’s wife Selina Khan posted a picture of the incident on Facebook and wrote that some terrorists came with a car and vandalized and set fire to the grave of Moinuddin Khan Badal’s paternal grandfather. Now people are not safe even in the grave.

Badal, who died on November 7, 2019, was the executive president of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal. He was elected MP from Chattogram-8 as a candidate of the Awami League-led alliance in 2008, 2014 and 2018.
