Gold price drops by Tk4,374 per bhori

Gold prices have fallen again in the domestic market, with the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (Bajus) reducing the price by up to Tk4,374 per bhori.

Under the new rates, the price of 22-carat gold has been set at Tk238,121 per bhori.

Bajus announced the revised prices in a notification issued on Saturday morning. The new rates came into effect from 10am the same day.

According to Bajus, the decision was taken following a decline in the price of pure gold in the local market.

Under the revised rates, 21-carat gold will be sold at Tk227,331 per bhori, while 18-carat gold has been priced at Tk194,847 per bhori. Traditional gold has been set at Tk158,689 per bhori.

Previously, on May 15, Bajus reduced the price of 22-carat gold by Tk2,216 per bhori, setting it at Tk242,495.

So far this year, gold prices in the local market have been adjusted 65 times. Prices were increased 35 times and reduced 30 times.

In 2025, gold prices were adjusted 93 times, with increases recorded 64 times and decreases 29 times.

Alongside gold, silver prices have also been reduced.

Bajus said the price of silver has been cut by Tk117 per bhori. Under the new rates, 22-carat silver will cost Tk5,657 per bhori.

The price of 21-carat silver has been set at Tk5,365 per bhori, while 18-carat silver will cost Tk4,607 per bhori. Traditional silver has been priced at Tk3,441 per bhori.

This year, silver prices have been adjusted 39 times, including 21 increases and 18 reductions.

In 2025, silver prices were revised 13 times, with prices increasing 10 times and decreasing three times.
