Entertainment Desk:
Starting his journey in theatre and television, Rashed Mamun Apu is now primarily engaged in films and OTT projects. From films like “Poran”, “Damal”, and “Prohelika” to the OTT project “Golam Mamun”, he has garnered widespread acclaim for each role he has donned.
In the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr, two films—Shihab Shaheen’s “Daagi” and M Raahim’s “Jongli”—featuring the actor, are slated to be released.
The actor shared that the shooting of the film, which began in Syedpur two months ago, was just wrapped up in Dhaka a few days ago, with an interval in between.
“We had a total of 50 days of shooting, and the journey was amazing,” said the actor. “Although we got a break in between, I did not work on any other projects during that time because I didn’t want to come out of the avatar I took for the film. That is why I remained in the same getup for 50 days.”
Speaking about sharing the screen with Afran Nisho and Tama Mirza, he shared, “Nisho is a brilliant actor, and it was a great experience working with him. Also, with Tama Mirza, it was the first time we shared the screen. The overall experience was delightful.”
Apu shared that Shihab Shaheen is quite strict as a director. “He is like a big brother to me since we are from the same theatre, Desh Natok, where we have worked together for a long time. However, I felt nervous while shooting under his direction.”
When asked about the reason for this nervousness, he said that one cannot fool him. “If there was even a slight mistake, he scolded us. We collaborated in ‘Golam Mamun’. Apart from that, I worked in ‘Syndicate’ and now in ‘Daagi’. “He is an incredibly talented director,” he added.
When asked whether the character still resides within him after completing the shoot, the “Poran” actor responded, “When I stand in front of the mirror at home, I am reminded of the character from ‘Poran’. It still lives within me.”
On the other hand, this Eid, audiences will see him in a new role in the film “Jongli”, where Siam Ahmed plays the lead.
Speaking about his character in the project, Rashed Mamun Apu shared, “I play a journalist from a small town who is also a TikToker. He works for a little-known online news portal. I thoroughly enjoyed playing this character as well.”
Additionally, he has recently shot for a one-hour drama titled “Kothar Ki Chhiri”, directed by Sushmoy Sumon. It is expected to air during Eid.
