Popular actor Jaya Ahsan-starrer film “Bhootpori” will be screened at the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) on November 25. The film will be shown at the Indian Panorama section.
Jaya Ahsan revealed the screening date in a Facebook post on Wednesday.“Honoured to announce Bhootpori’s selection for the Indian Panorama at the 55th International Film Festival of India, Goa! A special screening celebrating the art of storytelling will be held at 8:00pm on 25 November. Experience Bhootpori on the global stage”, the post reads.
Directed by Saukorja Ghosal, the film “Bhootpori” tells the story of a woman who died in 1947. Her restless spirit meets a young boy in the present day, and together they seek to uncover the truth behind her death, discovering that it was not an accident but a murder. Jaya has played the title role in the project.
The film also stars Ritwick Chakraborty, Sudipta Chakraborty, Shantilal Mukherjee, and Bishantak Mukherjee.
The “Bhootpori” premiered in West Bengal on 9 February of this year.
Jaya Ahsan has several upcoming films set for release, raising excitement among her fans, including “Jaya Aar Sharmin”, “Kalantar,” “Putulnacher Itikatha”, and “OCD.” The actor will also be seen in the web series “Jimmi” directed by Ashfaque Nipun.
Began on Tuesday, the 55th IFFI will continue till 28 November in Goa, India. “Bhootpori” is part of the Feature Film segment in the Indian Panorama section, along with two other Bengali films, “Amar Boss” and “Aankh Ki Kothin.”
