BNP Chairperson and former prime minister Begum Khaleda Zia’s physical condition remains stable, her personal physician and party standing committee member Prof Dr AZM Zahid Hossain said on Thursday.
“Khaleda Zia was able to receive and respond to the treatment being administered by her medical team,” Dr Zahid said while briefing journalists outside Evercare Hospital in the capital in the afternoon.
He noted that doctors were hopeful about her recovery and believed she would gradually improve.
Dr Zahid also sought prayers from people across the country for the former prime minister’s recovery.
Khaleda Zia has been suffering from multiple complex health conditions for a long time.
She was admitted to Evercare Hospital on the night of November 23 after experiencing sudden breathing difficulties. Since then, she has been under close medical observation at the hospital.
Doctors continue to monitor her condition as part of an intensive care and treatment plan, party sources said.
