Naiyar Sultana, Education Officer in Sirajganj Sadar Upazila said that, “There is no alternative of sports and exercise besides educational activities for the growth of physical and mental health of students. This is why, there are needed adequate space and playground at every educational institution in the country. The incumbent government is working hard for physical and intellectual development of students in which they can keep contribution in building educated and healthy nation in future.”
She came up with the remarks, while addressing a meeting as chief guest held on the occasion of Bangabandhu and Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Football Tournament’s final round at Mirpur Government Primary School in Sirajganj Sadar upazila on Thursday.
She also said, “Sports and physical exercise help to develop the talent of students. For this reason, students should participate in sports besides carrying educational activities. We are trying to provide all kinds of logistic supports to all educational institutions with the aim to improve the standard of educations and sports. This effort may help the students to build themselves as skilled and eligible for participating in the sports of international arena.”
Earlier this, under the cluster No. 1 and 2 of Sirajganj Sadar Upazila, the final round of Bangabandhu and Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Football Tournament was held at the Mirpur Government Primary School ground.
The programme was presided over by Aktari Khanam, Headmaster of Mirpur Governmet Primary School, while SM Alauddin (Ala), General Secretary of Mirpur Village Panchayet Committee inaugurated the Bangabandhu Gold Cup Tournament and Raju Ahmed Arju, Councilor of Ward No-15 in Sirajganj Municipality inaugurated the Bangamata Football Tournament. At the end of the game, trophies were handed over to the champions and runner-up teams.
