Bangladesh Film Censor Board (BFCB) has undergone reform for the next one year, with the inclusion of Dilara Hanif Purnima, one of Dhallywood’s most celebrated actresses, as a new member.

The reformation of the board was finalised on Sunday.

According to sources within the censor board, the Information Secretary has been elected as the chairman for the upcoming year. Additionally, six members from various ministries, including the Ministry of Information, have been appointed to serve on the board.

In addition to Purnima, other prominent figures in the Bangladeshi film industry such as Kazi Hayat, President of the Bangladesh Film Directors’ Association; actress Sujata Azim; film producer Khorshed Alam Khasru; film director Jahangir Alam; actors Aruna Biswas, Azizul Hakim, and Rokeya Prachi; and vice-chairman of the censor board, Khaleda Begum, have been appointed as members of the committee.
