Rumky’s two paintings at Nakhon Sawan Int’l Art Festival

Artist Hasura Akther Rumky’s two paintings are being showcased at the ongoing Nakhon Sawan International Art Festival 2024 in Thailand. The paintings are from Rumky’s art series “Beseeching For Peace”. The exhibition began on 17 November and will continue till 30 November.

“A 144 artists from 42 countries are being showcased their works at the show. Two paintings from my art series ‘Beseeching For Peace’ have been selected for the event. After the exhibition, the painting will be collected for the ‘Nakhon Showan International Art Museum’. I feel very happy that my paintings will be displayed at an international museum”, Rumky told the Daily Sun.

Besides Rumky, a Bangladeshi printmaker is participating in the exhibition.

Hasura Akther Rumky is a talented artist in the country. She completed both her BFA (Honours) and MFA from the Department of Oriental Art, Faculty of Fine Arts at University of Dhaka. The artist has participated in a number of solo, group art exhibitions, workshops, art camps, projects and residencies held both at home and abroad.

She has received several awards including, “Grand Award”, “KAHAL Art Gallery”, Japan in 2021, “Honourable Mention Award” at the 6th Oriental  Painting Exhibition organised by OPSG in 2016.
