Sirajganj Poura Awami League Vice-President Shahidul Islam Philips, who was arrested by police on Saturday night in connection with a murder case, was sent to jail on Sunday noon.

Monirul Islam, Sub-Inspector of Sirajganj Sadar thana and also Investigation Officer (IO) of the murder case said, Philips was picked up from a house of Muktarpara in Sirajganj town at around 9:00am on Saturday in a case filed for killing of District Jubo Dal Vice-President Shohanur Rahman Ranju, who was shot to dead during the students-public uprising on August 4.

On Sunday noon, he was produced before a court in Sirajganj and the court issued an order to send him in jail.
