The Election Commission has approved the inclusion of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman in the country’s voter list.

The decision was endorsed by the Election Commission on Sunday, clearing the way for Tarique Rahman’s name to be formally registered as a voter, said Md Ruhul Amin Mollick, director (public relations) of the organisation.

Party leaders said the approval marks a significant development following Tarique Rahman’s recent return to the country, as it enables him to complete the necessary electoral formalities ahead of the upcoming national polls.
