Members of the Bangladesh Army and the Bangladesh Navy detained a ‘top criminal’ after conducting a joint drive in Khulna city early Sunday.

Md Palash Talukder alias Chingri Palash and his wife Parvin Sultana were apprehended during the drive in the Goborchaka area around 12:40am, the Inter-Services Public Relation Directorate (ISPR) said in a press release.

Five crude bombs, two machetes, other sharp weapons, and six mobile phones were seized, it added.

The detainees were handed over to the Sonadanga police station.

Palash is accused in eight cases including murder, drugs, and arms filed with the police station, the ISPR added.
