TDS Desk:
Train movement on the Dhaka-Sylhet route have resumed on Saturday after a two-day suspension due to flash floods.
Operations were halted on the route on Thursday as heavy rainfall led to waterlogged the railway tracks.
Despite the restoration of the Dhaka-Sylhet route, train services connecting Dhaka with Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar remain suspended. Severe flooding in these regions including Cumilla, Noakhali, and Feni has kept these routes out of operation.
According to Khairul Kabir, Divisional Transport Officer for Dhaka Division of Bangladesh Railway, the heavy rainfall since Wednesday has left rail lines submerged, particularly in the affected districts.
