A court in Sirajganj on Thursday convicted and sentenced two persons to life term imprisonment on charge of possessing heroin. The court also fined Tk 20,000 each; in default they have to suffer six more months in Jail. Md. Abul Bashar Mian, Judge of Additional District and Session Judge Court delivered the verdict at around 12:00pm. The convicted are: Ramzan Ali, 27, son of Jamal Hossain of Bujruk Shreemantapur village in Godagari municipality of Rajshahi district and Boni Israil, 32, son of Yunus Ali of the same village. According to the prosecution brief, acting on a tip-off, RAB-12 forces conducted a drive at Sirajganj Road area near Hatikumrul under Salanga Police Station on May 21 in 2022. After a searching, RAB forces recovered 100 gram of heroin from their possessions and arrested the duo on charge of carrying the drug. Yusuf Ali, DAD of RAB-12 lodged a case with Salanga Model Police Station in this connection.
