A court in Joypurhat sentenced 13 people including a father-son and two brothers to life imprisonment in a murder case.

At the same time, the court also fined them Tk 50,000 each, in default of payment, they will have to suffer two years more in jail.

Joypurhat Additional Sessions Judge Nurul Islam handed down the verdict on Sunday afternoon.

The convicts were Azizar Rahman, Shahadul Islam, Saidul Islam, Mozam, Moslem, Moslem’s son Aminur, Abul Kashem, Ashat, Sekendar, Shahin Molla, Akram Ali, Mst Jinnah and Abdus Chattar of Amuniapara village under Khetlal upazila in the district.

The court Public Prosecutor Abu Nasim Shamimul Imam Shamim confirmed it.

According to the case statement, on June 9, 2013, a young man named Firoz was attacked due to a family dispute. The family admitted him to hospital. Feroz later died there while under going treatment.

In this regard, a case was filed on June 13. After a long hearing, the court gave this verdict Sunday.
