Popular Dhallywood actor Masum Parvez Rubel was seriously injured in a road accident in Madaripur on Saturday. Eight others were also injured in the accident.

The accident took place around 10:30am in Samaddar area of ​​Madaripur on the way from capital Dhaka to Patuakhali.

Sources said Rubel and his associates were traveling from Dhaka to Amtali in Patuakhali district to inaugurate a club. Near the Tantibari area in Madaripur, a passenger bus from Barishal collided with their microbus, causing it to lose control and crash into a roadside tree.

Rubel is currently serving as the vice-president of the Bangladesh Film Artists’ Association. His career in the Bengali film industry began with the film Laraku, directed by Shahidul Islam Khokon in 1986. Over the years, he has appeared in more than 200 films, with notable works including Mayer Jonno Juddho, Bichchu Bahini, Utthan Poton, Bajromusti, and Vondo.
