BNP standing committee member and Khaleda Zia’s doctor Dr AZM Zahid Hossain said that her full assessment has not been completed yet and may take until Friday.

“Following this, the medical team will devise a comprehensive treatment plan for her,” he said this to reporters during an evening briefing in front of The London Clinic in Central London on Monday.

Dr Zahid noted that the medical evaluations of Khaleda Zia’s chronic liver disease, chronic kidney disease, and heart conditions are ongoing.

He said Khaleda Zia has always avoided sharing her physical condition with the public, choosing instead to focus on the welfare of others.

“She has endured much hardship, but she never prioritized her own suffering over the concerns of the people,” he said. “Tuesday when she learned that journalists were waiting outside in the freezing cold, she reluctantly urged them to leave and thanked everyone, including the journalists.”
