Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda is set to share screen space with Hollywood star John Cena in the upcoming action thriller “Matchbox”. The movie marks Hooda’s second collaboration with “Extraction” director Sam Hargrave, following their 2020 Netflix hit, reports Variety.

In a statement, Randeep Hooda expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “I’m thrilled to reunite with Sam Hargrave. Our collaboration on “Extraction” was an incredible experience. Sam has a unique vision for bringing out high-energy action stories, and I’m excited to join the team in Budapest.”

“Matchbox” is being produced by Mattel Films, Skydance Films, and is an Apple Original production. The movie, which is currently being filmed in Budapest, will soon have Hooda joining the rest of the cast and crew on set.

Hargrave, acclaimed for directing “Extraction” 1 and 2, has also made his mark as the mastermind behind the stunts and action sequences in blockbuster films like “Avengers: Endgame”, “Infinity War”, “Thor: Ragnarok”, and “Suicide Squad”, among others. His first collaboration with Hooda in “Extraction” saw the Indian actor deliver a standout performance as Saju alongside Chris Hemsworth.

On the work front in India, Randeep Hooda is currently busy filming “Jaat”, directed by Gopichand Malineni and co-starring Sunny Deol. The film is being produced by Mythri Movie Makers and People Media Factory, the production houses behind “Pushpa 2”. Additionally, the actor is set to begin work on his next project with acclaimed filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj.
