Cases will be filed if vehicles are found to run on high speed on the Dhaka Elevated Expressway from February 21.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police Traffic Division will file the case.

The maximum speed limit is 80 kilometers. Cases will be filed if the speed exceeds 100 kilometers. If the cases are filed more than three times, the vehicles will be banned from the expressway.

Hasib Hasan Khan, director of First Dhaka Elevated Expressway O and M (Operation and Maintenance) Company Limited, announced this at a press briefing at the expressway office at Khilkhet in the capital on Saturday.

He said, “We have decided that we will instruct police to file a case if a vehicle crosses the speed limit of 100 km/h. The case will be filed by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police.”

“Based on case information if the same vehicle violates the speed limit more than three times, it will be banned from using the elevated expressway in future,” Hasib Hasan Khan added.
