All the members of the regiment need to remain prepared to tackle 21st-century challenges through modern and relevant training, said Chief of Army Staff General Waker -Uz-Zaman.

“I hope army personnel will willingly fulfil their duties in service of the nation and be prepared to sacrifice their lives if necessary,” he said on Thursday (February 27) at 9:30am while speaking at the 7th ‘Colonel of the Regiment’ induction ceremony at the Shaheed Colonel Anis Parade Ground in the Bangladesh Infantry Regimental Centre (BIRC) in Rajshahi Cantonment.

“The Bangladesh Army’s regiments have undergone modernisation. This includes establishing new units, adding modern weapons and equipment, and implementing welfare and development initiatives, all of which have enhanced the army’s capabilities,” said General Waker.

He reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that every member of the regiment is trained and professional.

Earlier, General Waker -Uz-Zaman was inducted as the 7th ‘Colonel of the Regiment’ of the Bangladesh Infantry Regimental Centre. Through this, he assumed the guardianship of the regiment.
