A Natore tribunal on Tuesday sent SM Fazlul Haque, superintendent of Rangpur range, in a case filed by his wife under the Woman & Child Repression Prevention Act.
Judge of Natore Woman and Child Repression Prevention Tribunal Muhammad Abdur Rahim passed the order after rejecting his bail petition.
According to the prosecution, on October 28, Mehnaz Akter, wife of SP Fazlul, of Lalpur village in Natore district, filed a case against him.
Allegations have been brought against him for demanding Tk 20 lakh as dowry, torture and maintaining illicit relationship.
Later, he was suspended and attached to the Mymensingh Range.
Meanwhile, chaos ensued at the court premises when some reporters tried to snap a photo of SP Fazlul.
On information, a team of Bangladesh Army rushed in and brought the situation under control.He was later sent to jail.
