UNB:
Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus on Monday encouraged young scouts to help open doors for others, discover a world of opportunities, better understand people through broader friendship, and contribute to positive change.
“Scouting has opened a big door of opportunities for you. It is a big opportunity for you to open the door for others,” he said while inaugurating the Bangladesh Scouts Cub Carnival at the chief adviser’s office.
The chief adviser also distributed Shapla Cub Awards at the ceremony.
This carnival has started simultaneously in 527 locations across the country.
Yunus urged young people engaged in scouting not to get stuck pointing fingers at closed doors, emphasizing that they need to open those doors.
He said it is an opportunity for young people to shape the path of the future by taking advantage of their involvement in scouting.
The chief adviser also shared his personal experiences of getting involved in scouting at an early stage of his life.
In 1955, Yunus was part of a Boy Scout group that had the opportunity to travel to Europe and North America to attend the 10th World Jamboree of Boy Scouts held in Canada.
