Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Adviser Professor Dr Asif Nazrul on Wednesday said there is huge demand of skilled workers in Japan.
“To meet the demand, the Bangladeshi workers should achieve necessary skills expertise,” he said.
The adviser made the remark while speaking as chief guest at a seminar titled “Japanese labour market: possibility and challenge” at International Mother Language Institute here.
He said: “We have formed a ‘Japan Cell’ and also have a plan to make a dedicated website”, even we are following easiest way for sending workers abroad.”
Alongside, he said,”We are thinking private-public partnership for developing the as skilled workforce”.
Mentioning the reality of the public services, the adviser said, “When we visit the government office we hear that the organization has no vehicle, no computer, no manpower,” adding that even the organization needs more manpower while the 50 percent of the total manpower do not work properly.
Speaking on providing bank loan for the students to go abroad, Asif Nazrul said, “We will try best to introduce bank loan facilities for the students willing to go abroad”.
Citing cautious for those who are willing to go abroad, the overseas employment adviser said it is not well to go abroad anyhow, adding that anyone should go abroad through gaining proper expertise.
“Even we have to make aware the people so that they do not face any unfortunate situation for going abroad through selling his property,” he added.
About sending Bangladeshi workers to Malaysia, the adviser said there is a possibility to take 30,000-40,000 workers to Malaysia from Bangladesh in next one year.
