The popular on-screen duo of Siam Ahmed and Raihan Rafi, who first captivated audiences with the film Poramon 2, are reuniting once again.

After launching their careers with that hit, Raihan Rafi has become one of Dhallywood’s most celebrated directors, known for delivering blockbusters starring top actors like Raj, Nisho and Shakib Khan.

Meanwhile, Siam Ahmed has risen as one of the industry’s promising leading men.

Although their paths diverged after collaborations like Damal, the pair are now coming together for a new project.

Raihan Rafi, who recently directed the Shakib Khan-starrer Tandoob, is venturing into the horror genre with his upcoming film Andhar; a blend of thriller, romance and action. The film will feature actor Siam Ahmed in the lead role.

According to sources, veteran actor Chanchal Chowdhury will play a key character in the movie.

The identity of the film’s heroine had remained a secret until recently, when multiple sources confirmed that actress Nazifa Tushi will be starring opposite Siam. This will mark their first collaboration on the big screen.

Nazifa Tushi has already gained popularity through her performances in films like Icecream and Hawa, as well as in several acclaimed web series such as Dark Side of Dhaka, Network er Baire and Syndicate on OTT platforms. She has now been officially finalized for Andhar.

Speaking about the project, Nazifa Tushi said, “As artists, we often have to follow many rules and cannot always say everything. For now, I cannot disclose much; the team and the director will share details when the time comes.”

Siam previously worked with Raihan Rafi in Poramon 2, Damal and the web film Tan. Nazifa Tushi also acted under Raihan Rafi’s direction in Dark Side of Dhaka.

The story of Andhar is penned by Saidus Salehin Sumon (Bassbaba Sumon from Aurthohin band), Shakib Chowdhury and Adnan Adib Khan.

Shooting is expected to begin next month and the film is planned to avoid release during the two Eid festivals to maximize its reach. Pre-production work is currently underway.
