The government has appointed new police superintendents (SPs) in seven districts and transferred six other senior police officers in a major reshuffle of the force.

The Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs issued a notification on Monday, signed by Deputy Secretary Md Mahbubur Rahman.

According to the order, new SPs have been posted to Barguna, Bagerhat, Narsingdi, Narayanganj, Meherpur, Narail and Natore.

The notification stated that the order has been made in the public interest and will take immediate effect.
