Minister for Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku has been admitted to Ibrahim Cardiac Hospital in Dhaka after falling ill.

President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir visited the hospitalized minister on Wednesday morning (September 2) to inquire about his health.

According to presidential and hospital sources, the President arrived at the hospital around 9:30 AM and spent some time alongside the veteran leader. He spoke with the attending physicians to get a detailed update on the minister’s condition and ongoing treatment.

Family and party sources confirmed that Tuku, a senior member of the BNP Standing Committee, had been suffering from high fever, cold, and cough over the past few days. He was hospitalized after his condition deteriorated.

Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku was elected to Parliament from the Sirajganj-2 constituency in the 13th National Parliamentary Election held in February, and took oath as the Minister for Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources on February 17.
