Police arrested two alleged drug peddlers along with 36 bottles of Phensedyl syrup from Pangsha upazila in Rajbari district on Sunday afternoon.

The arrested men are Md Zamirul Islam, and Md Sekendar Ali, hailed from Chuadanga’s Jibannagar upazila.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of Pangsha Model Station conducted a raid in Southpara area under Machhpara union on the Rajbari-Kustia regional highway around 12:30pm. At that time, police arrested the duo along with drugs, said Sopon Kumar Mazumdar, officer in-charge of Pangsha Model Police Station.

They have been produced before the court after filing a case against them with the police station, he added.
