The body of the late Dhaliwood small screen actor Waliul Haque Rumi has been taken to his hometown in Barguna. The actor will be laid to rest there. Fellow actor Rashed Shimanto confirmed this information.
Veteran actor Waliul Haque Rumi passed away early on Monday (April 22) due to incurable cancer.
The actor has been suffering from colon cancer for a long time. According to family sources, the actor was first taken to Chennai, India for initial treatment. After that, the actor was under treatment at Square Hospital in the capital.
According to the doctor on duty, actor Rumi’s physical condition was initially stable. He was undergoing treatment and was under close observation of the doctor. But suddenly his physical condition started to deteriorate. In the end, this actor could not be saved.
Before his death, the actor asked for prayers from everyone about his physical illness. He wanted to beat cancer and get back to normal. But the actor lost to this deadly disease.
Rumi has spent more than three decades in acting. He acted in numerous dramas and movies during this long journey. He has impressed the audience with his acting skills.
Rumi started acting in 1988 with the play ‘Ekhono Kritodas’ at Theater Bailey Road. In the same year, he made his debut on the small screen with the play ‘Kon Kananer Phool’. Apart from television, he also acted in movies.
Rumi’s notable dramas include ‘Dhaka to Barisal’, ‘American Saheb’, ‘Journey by Bus’, ‘Bakier Naam Faki’, ‘Jamaj Series’, ‘Comedy 420’, ‘Chaita Pagol’, ‘Jiboner Ooligli’, ‘Meghe dhaka shohor’ etc.
