Bollywood actors Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal embraced the festive spirit of Makar Sankranti by flying a kite together. Akshay shared a heartwarming video from the set of their upcoming film Bhooth Bangla as they enjoyed the traditional activity associated with the festival.
In the video, Akshay is seen manoeuvring the kite string while Paresh Rawal assists him, bringing their on-screen camaraderie to life behind the scenes. The duo’s cheerful celebration received applause from Bhooth Bangla producer Ektaa R Kapoor.
Sharing the video on social media, Akshay captioned it: “Celebrating the vibrant spirit of Makar Sankranti on the set of #BhoothBangla with my dear friend @SirPareshRawal! Here’s to laughter, good vibes, and soaring high just like the kites! And sending my best wishes for a joyous Pongal, Uttarayan and Bihu (sic).”
Makar Sankranti, observed across India, coincides with festivals like Pongal, Uttarayan, and Bihu, celebrating harvests, prosperity, and the onset of longer days.
Akshay and Paresh have previously shared the screen in iconic films like Hera Pheri, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Garam Masala, OMG, and others.
Bhooth Bangla, which marks Akshay’s reunion with filmmaker Priyadarshan after 14 years, promises to deliver an exciting mix of chills and chuckles. Last year, the makers unveiled a poster featuring Akshay on his birthday, sparking fans’ excitement.
The film is produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ektaa R Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms in association with Akshay Kumar’s production house, Cape of Good Films. It is co-produced by Faara Sheikh and Vedant Baali. The story is penned by Akash A Kaushik, with the screenplay by Rohan Shankar, Abilash Nair, and Priyadarshan. The dialogues are written by Rohan Shankar.
Bhooth Bangla is set to release in theatres on April 2, 2026.
