Bangladeshis killed by terrorists in South Africa

A Bangladeshi youth named Nurul Huda Liton was killed by terrorists in South Africa. Liton is resident of Dagonbhuiyan upazila of Feni. The killing took place in front of Liton’s own business in Johannesburg, South Africa on Friday night.

Nurul Huda Liton is the son of Ebadul Haque of Lal Mohammad’s house in East Jagatpur village, Ward No. 9 of Dagonbhuiyan Municipality.

Mohammad Sabuj, the cousin of the deceased, said that when he got into the car after work at the business establishment on Friday night, the terrorists had already started shooting at him. He collapsed on the spot. The locals rescued him and took him to the hospital where the doctor declared him dead.

Local Shaukat Mahmud said Liton migrated to South Africa in 2013. He was supposed to come home and get married on February 15. But he had to leave the earth forever before that. The house was under construction with a three-story foundation. In the meantime, the work on the ground floor tiles is almost at the final stage.

Omar Farooq Khan, Mayor of Daganbhuanan Municipality, said that the news of Liton’s death has cast a shadow of mourning on the area. He sought the help of the government to bring his body to the country.

Liton was the eldest among three sons and three daughters of retired civil servant Ebadal Haque. His second brother is in Saudi Arabia and his younger brother Mithu in South Africa were with him.
