Police constable Md Mukul Chokder has been shown arrested in a case filed over killing of six students in Ashulia, Savar, and torching their bodies during the recent July-August mass uprising.
A three-member bench of International Crimes Tribunal (ICT), led by Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mozumder, passed the order on Thursday as police produced the constable before the court and the prosecution pleaded to show him arrested in the case.
Earlier, on December 24, ICT issued arrest warrant against former Dhaka-19 MP Muhammad Saiful Islam and four policemen in connection with crimes against humanity and genocide in Savar’s Ashulia during the July-August mass uprising.
The court also had set January 26 for submitting progress report on the investigation of the case.
