The body of Tofazzal Hossain, who was killed in mob lynching at Dhaka University (DU), has been buried.

He was laid to rest next to the graves of his father, mother, and brother in the family graveyard of Patharghata taluk village in Barguna on Friday (September 20) morning.

Earlier, his Janaza was held at the local madrasa grounds around 9 am today. After the funeral, the locals formed a human chain to demand justice for those involved in Tofazzal’s murder.

Tofazzal was beaten to death on suspicion that he was a thief in the guest room of Fazlul Haque Muslim Hall of Dhaka University Yesterday. He is a resident of Pathorghata Upazila in Barguna.

He became unbalanced over a love affair. He was also the president of the Kathaltali Union Chhatra League of Patharghata Upazila.

The deceased Tofazzal was the son of Abdur Rahman of Charduani village of Patharghata taluk. His father died in a road accident and his mother and brother died of cancer. No member of his family is alive. Because of this he became mentally unbalanced.
