The death toll from the gas cylinder blast in Gazipur’s Kaliakair upazila went up to 10, as four more burn victims died today while undergoing treatment at the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burns and Plastic Surgery.

Among them, Zahirul Islam (40), Motaleb (45) died around 2:30 O’clock on Sunday (March 17) night, child Solaiman (9) died at 6:30 am on Monday (March 18) and Rabbi (13) died around 7:30 am.

Zahirul Islam is the son of Aynal Fakir of Shahjadpur police station in Sirajganj. Motaleb is the son of Mohammad Ali of Madhupur police station in Tangail. Child Solaiman is the son of Shafiqul Islam of Phulbaria police station in Mymensingh and Rabbi is the son of Shah Alam of Shahjadpur police station of Sirajganj.

Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery resident doctor Dr. Tariqul Islam confirmed this information.

He said that four people including children died in gas cylinder explosion from midnight to morning. They were treated in the intensive care unit (ICU) of the hospital with 65-95 percent burns. So far, 10 people including women and children killed in this incident.
