Inflation eased last month by 0.49% to 10.89%, bringing a slight relief to consumers.
Staying above 10% for the second straight month and hovering near 11% in December, the inflation trajectory would take some time to fall to tolerable levels for consumers.
Data from the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) showed food inflation also fell to 12.92% in December from 13.80% the previous month.
Non-food inflation edged down to 9.26% in December, compared with 9.39% in November.
