The monthly meeting of the Upazila Law and Order Committee was held in Belkuchi of Sirajganj on Monday (December 22) morning. The meeting took place at the Upazila Parishad conference room, organized by the Upazila Administration.

Belkuchi Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Afrin Jahan presided over the meeting.

Among others, speeches were delivered by Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Belkuchi Police Station Jahurul Islam, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Affia Sabeerin, Upazila Agriculture Officer Sukanta Dhar, Upazila Livestock Officer Dr. Nazmul Haque, Upazila Youth Development Officer Jahurul Islam, and Upazila Social Services Officer Debashish Ghosh.

Also present at the meeting were General Secretary of Mukundaganti Bazar Traders’ Association Mohammad Ali Bhuiyan, Panel Chairman of Rajapur Union Parishad Nurul Islam, Panel Chairman of Daulatpur Union Parishad Samchul Alam, along with other members of the Law and Order Committee.

During the meeting, special emphasis was placed on maintaining overall law and order in the upazila ahead of the upcoming national election. The participants also discussed taking effective measures to ease traffic congestion in the Mukundaganti Bus Stand area, ensuring loading and unloading of goods by trucks at designated places and times in market areas, preventing child marriage, and strengthening efforts to control drug abuse.

Speakers expressed optimism that maintaining a peaceful and orderly environment in Belkuchi would be possible through coordinated efforts between the administration and elected public representatives.
