More than 400 tourists have been stranded in Sajek, Rangamati, due to submerged roads caused by continuous rainfall.
Baghaichari Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Shirin Akter confirmed the matter on Friday night.
Locals report that the Kabakhali and Baghaihat Bazar roads in Dighinala, Khagrachhari district, have been flooded. As a result, two key sections of the road leading to Sajek are underwater, leaving tourists unable to leave.
Joy Tripura, the vice-president of the Sajek Resort Owners Association, said that about 400 tourists were in Sajek on Friday night. These tourists are stranded due to the submerged roads.
However, he hoped that the water would recede by Saturday afternoon.
