Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has left to embark on a four-day visit to China, said his Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Ruman.
Tarique boarded a Biman Bangladesh flight from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 5pm local time (3pm Dhaka time), Rumon added.
Malaysian Religious Affairs Minister Dr Zulkifli Hasan bade farewell to the Bangladesh prime minister at a VIP terminal of the airport.
Upon reaching China’s Dalian city, Tarique will join the two-day World Economic Forum’s (WEF) Summer Davos summit, the second largest gathering of the global body.
On Thursday, he will reach Beijing, launching his first official bilateral visit to the Asian superpower.
On Thursday, Tarique will meet Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang, and on Friday, he will meet President Xi Jinping.
