BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi alleged that a “kitchen cabinet” within the interim government is manipulating the government head and hindering progress on developmental decisions.

Rizvi made these statements while participating in a protest program in front of the National Press Club on Wednesday. On this day, the ‘Non-MPO-Listed Educational Institutions Unity Council’ organized a nationwide continuous protest demanding MPO (Monthly Payment Order) status.

Rizvi said, “The people who spread light in society and enlighten others are having to protest at the Secretariat, while those who are creating syndicates in the market are not arrested. The interim government shows no concern in this matter. The non-MPO-listed teachers who have raised demands due to hunger, the government is ignoring them.”

He added, “This government is a government of Abu Sayed ‘s blood, the blood of Mugdho. The teachers who spread light in society are forced to protest on the streets for survival, yet there is no assurance from the government to fulfill their demands. This shows that there are some anti-people elements within the government.”

The BNP spokesperson also stated, “We hear that there is a ‘kitchen cabinet’ in the government, which is preventing Dr. Yunus, the chief adviser, from making decisions on his own. He is the chief adviser, equal to the prime minister. He should be able to make developmental decisions alone, but some advisers are not allowing him to do so.”

He questioned, “There are many teachers who have been educating students for 27 years and have taken many responsibilities in society. Are they not citizens of the country? Why is the government turning its back on them?”

Rizvi further stated, “The chief adviser is teacher-friendly, and he has led movements for teachers. However, there are some anti-people advisers in his advisory board who are preventing such actions.

He also asked, “How can you find joy when teachers and their children are left hungry? Why is the chief adviser not paying attention to them?”

Rizvi also stated, “Dr. Aminul Islam is a respected and distinguished educator. His name was initially announced as the education adviser, but later in the evening, another name was announced in his place. Why was a respected and renowned teacher like Dr. Aminul Islam treated this way?”
