BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman is set to depart on Wednesday (24 December) for his homeland Bangladesh.

He will leave London for Dhaka on Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight BG-202 from Heathrow Airport at 6:15pm local time on Wednesday (12:15am Bangladesh time).

He will be accompanied by his wife Dr Zubaida Rahman and their daughter Zaima Rahman.

If all goes according to plan, Tarique Rahman is scheduled to arrive at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Thursday (25 December) at 11:55am.

Meanwhile, centering on Tarique Rahman’s historic return, the BNP has made extensive preparations for rallies and receptions across the capital Dhaka and throughout the country.

Speaking at a Victory Day gathering in London on 16 December, Tarique Rahman said, “With your prayers, I will return to the country on the 25th. I request everyone not to go to the airport that day. Those who respect this request will be showing respect for the party and the country.”

He further said that those who ignore this request and go to the airport will be considered as acting out of personal interest.
