At least five people, including a child, were reportedly killed and several others injured after a bus hit a waiting car at the Dhaleshwari toll plaza of the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway in South Keraniganj on Friday.
Sreenagar Fire Service Station Officer Dewan Azad said they died on the way to Dhaka Mitford Hospital.
However, he mentioned that the information is not yet fully verified.
He said that around 11:15am, several vehicles, including cars and motorcycles, were waiting to pay tolls in the Mawa-bound lane of the toll plaza.
At that moment, a speeding passenger, after its driver lost control, crossed the toll barrier and rammed into a car before colliding with several other vehicles.
He said: “At least 15 passengers, including six passengers of the bus and car, were seriously injured. They were taken to Dhaka Mitford Hospital for better treatment, where five of them died on the way to the hospital.”
