88 more die of Covid-19, 3629 infected

Bangladesh reported 88 more Covid-19 deaths in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of deaths to 10,869, according to the official figures; according to the official figures.

Besides, 3,629 Covid-19 cases were confirmed during the period. With the latest, the tally of infections has surged to 7,39,703.

Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) informed this in a press release on Friday (April 23, 2021).

A total of 25,896 samples were tested at 335 authorized laboratories across the country during the time, the press release added. “The virus detection rate was 14 percent in the past 24 hours.”

In the past 24 hours, another 5,225 people were discharged from the hospital, raising the total number of cured patients to 6,47,674.

Earlier, 98 deaths and 4,014 cases were reported related to the disease yesterday.

The first coronavirus death was reported in the country on March 18, ten days after the detection of the first COVID-19 cases.
