TDS Desk:

Actress Tasnia Farin has apologised to the protesters for remaining silence. About this issue, the actor wrote on her Facebook, “After so many days, it doesn’t make any sense if I say something or not. However, I decided to talk because my silence is not tolerated by myself.”

“I remained silent for my own safety. I was silent for lack of courage. I could not think the country over me. The responsibility for this failure is entirely mine. Today, when thousands of people have gathered at Shahid Minar without thinking about their safety, it is ridiculous to think about my own safety while sitting at home”, she added.

Referring to herself as a selfish person, Farin added, “You people who are doing the work of reforming the country so beautifully without any help from anyone, are the real celebrities. Selfish people like me have a lot to learn from you. Maybe one day I will have the courage to not think ten times while writing and saying something. I’m still deleting many words while writing. I hurt you. I apologise. As a citizen of Bangladesh, I want democracy to be re-established. If anyone can do it, that’s you.”

The artistes from different fields have joined ongoing student protests by expressing solidarity with the movement. Many have already participated in various events.
