The Supreme Court (SC) is not going to assign 12 High Court (HC) Judges to any bench in the face of the protest of the students demanding resignation of ‘partisan, corrupted and fascist-enabler’ judges.

The above information was revealed by SC registrar general Aziz Ahmad Bhuiyan. However, he didn’t reveal the identity of them.

In the meantime, the names of 12 judges are not in the list of proceedings published on the Supreme Court website for Sunday.

Those judges are Justice Ataur Rahman Khan, Justice Naima Haider, Justice Sheikh Hasan Arif, Justice Muhammad Khurshid Alam Sarkar, Justice Ashish Ranjan Das, Justice Khizir Hayat, Justice SM Moniruzzaman, Justice Khondkar Diliruzzaman, Justice Shahed Nooruddin, Justice Md. Akhtaruzzaman, Justice Md. Aminul Islam and Justice SM Masud Hossain Dolan.

On August 10, the students of various educational institutions gathered at the High Court on the call of the coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement. At one stage, in the context of their demands, five judges of the Appellate Division, including the then Chief Justice Obaidul Hasan, resigned on the same day.

Then on October 15, coordinators Hasnat Abdullah and Sarjis Alam announced on Facebook to besiege the High Court demanding the resignation of the judges, who are “partisans, corrupt and allies of fascists”.
