Bangladesh lost Shadman Islam and Mominul Haque only for four runs in their second innings of the Dhaka Test after South Africa secured a 202-run lead on Tuesday.

Shadman scored only one, and Mominul suffered a duck. Kagiso Rabada scaled both wickets.

South Africa ended their innings on 308 in reply to Bangladesh’s first innings at 106.

Kyle Verreynne scored his second Test ton to guide South Africa on a tricky Mirpur wicket that produces both turn and movement for the bowlers. Wiaan Mulder also hit a fifty, his best in Tests.

For Bangladesh, Taijul Islam bagged five wickets, becoming only the second Bangladeshi to take 200 or more wickets in Tests after Shakib Al Hasan. Hasan Mahmud took three wickets, while Mehidy Hasan Miraz bagged two.

Earlier, Bangladesh tumbled for 106, with Mahmudul Hasan Joy scoring 30.

Kagiso Rabada, Mulder, and Keshav Maharaj took three wickets each.

Bangladesh played 14 Tests against South Africa before this series but failed to win any of those.
